Terry McGowan has had a love of dance since she was a toddler in Scotland. Having this passion has led her through a lifetime of dance from being a dancer herself to her ultimate love of teaching and choreography. Terry has been blessed to have taught and choreographed for over 35 years at some of Canada's most acclaimed dance schools.  She has been the Director of RAD in Teacher’s, Children’s and Majors Programs at several schools, including the Edmonton School of Ballet and Shelley’s Dance Company in Edmonton, Creator’s Dance Center in Kelowna, and Fort Saskatchewan Dance Society.

Terry is so proud to have had the privilege of having taught such amazing dancers including Stacey Tookey of Celine Dion's Las Vegas show "A New Day" and of “So You Think You Can Dance” fame, Sandi Croft also of Celine Dion's "A New Day", Vanessa Lawson, the Royal Winnipeg's principal soloist, Brock Jellison of Rukus Productions and choreographer of the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Professional dancer and choreographer Kevin Tookey, who has danced his way around the world, appearing on the big screen in “Reefer Madness” and “Hot Rod” and who also has appearances on “So You Think You Can Dance”, Elizabeth Gordon-Tookey who portrayed "Baby" in the Toronto cast of "Dirty Dancing" and so many more wonderfully talented artists along the years.

Since her decision to semi-retire 2 years ago, Terry has been guest teaching for Loretta Beamish in Kelowna BC but her recent move to Abbotsford introduced new adventures. Terry is so grateful to have had such a fruitful career in dance and with such beautiful inspiration from all of her students throughout the years and although semi-retired, it seems she just can't walk away from it all just yet.

As everyone in the dance world knows, the curtain never really closes.
